The Michigan Gourd Society

Theta Chapter of the American Gourd society was formed in August of 2007. The Chapter was formed to gather those in Michigan who enjoy growing and using Gourds. MGS members will strive to share the joy and passion of growing and using Gourds with others through communication, educational presentations and displays of their work at venues such as Patch meetings, local and national events whenever possible.

Announcement

As of February 28th 2010 the Michigan Gourd Society is pleased to announce the election of a new Board of Officers for a two year term.

  • Jim Ege, President
  • Julie Glover, Vice President
  • Carolyn Ritter, Secretary
  • Rita Heller, Membership/Treasurer
  • The new board’s philosophy is positivity and fun with gourds. We will be having a bi-monthly newsletter and encourage all members to help us move to an all Internet format. By Moving to an internet format we will be able to reduce dues significantly. Dues will be $2 annually. Members without an Internet connection will need to help absorb their mailing costs by paying a dues of $6 annually. There will be no “official” MGS internet chat room at this time.

The Board urges members to re-engage Patches and select a delegate to let us know what is happening so we can pass the information to the Chapter and AGS. As President I will try to attend one of your meetings this year. Contact us with your Patch meeting information.
